Salvador Borges de Castro is a professional sommelier, from a winemaking family, with years of experience in the food, wine and hospitality industry. He works with a range of renowned restaurants, bars and hotels (Epur, Sud Lisboa, Tivoli Lisboa, Palácio Governador, Cave 23 to name a few).

Wine is in his blood – Salvador’s heritage comes from family ties to winemakers in Portugal and Spain. As an ambassador for Portuguese wines, he has a genuine passion for the uncommon, lesser-known yet underrated and superb wines in Portugal.

He champions those wines that capture the character, complexity and soul of the various Portuguese wine regions. Through this, he has cultivated sincere connections, building rapport with independent wine makers, vineyards and distributors throughout the country, helping keep the spirit of Portuguese wines very much alive. Through his wine tastings, he helps share knowledge and cultivate appreciation and better understanding of the wines in Portugal.
